Nice, no-name Vintage Banjo Mandolin, new renaissance head, playable condition.I've added a new Renaissance head, cleaned and lubricated the tuners , replaced some missing hooks and nuts with good matches from a luthier. The new head has a SLIGHT wrinkle at one edge, which a banjo setup tech assures me is not a problem. The bridge is one I made for this instrument. The instrument will be shipped with the string tension relaxed a bit so when you receive it you can tweak the bridge placement for intonation, which isn't perfect at the moment. Easy fix. Note that I could NOT find an 8 string tailpiece that would fit a banjo's hooks. This one is a new no-knot tailpiece. I have used only 4 of the 5 posts, doubling up to two strings per post. Unconventional but it works. The only markings on the banjo mando are marks of the maker of the neck adjustment fitting; Pat.Pend.W.M.P. Co. This was a mass produced fitting used by many makers.
The Birdseye Maple of the pot is very pretty, although I suspect it's laminated. On the black painted rim of the pot are some screw holes apparently from mounting a resonator of some sort. There is no case.
The tone? Well, it sounds like a banjo mandolin ;-) I thought I would like that, but it turned out that I don't care for it. They're all a bit brash sounding, even really good ones.
If shipping turns out to be significantly than the I've listed, I'll refund the difference.
