Martin Mandolin A style 1932 - Honduran Mahogany - Great Player - Ships FREE!!!

This ninety year old mandolin is in excellent playable and structural condition.   Constructed by the master luthiers of the Martin Co. to last a lifetime, this mandolin has surpassed that expectation and is ready to begin a new lifetime of making music.
The action is low and the mandolin plays nicely with no buzzing or dead spots.  The neck is straight, neck joint solid and there is plenty of room for future adjustments at the bridge.   The back of the neck and mandolin back may have been refinished, but aside from some contrast visible in the pictures the work is seamless.  The top has the same crack most of these mandolins develop.  However, this was repaired in 2008 at the Martin factory (according to the previous owner).   The repair is seamless, stable and will not reopen.  This repair is professional and difficulty to notice, but can be viewed between the high E and A strings in picture #1 and is featured in picture #3.   Please view the pictures for full consideration of these aesthetics.
This Martin mandolin sounds incredible.   Although Martins are often given a second seat to gibson, this mandolin perfectly exhibits the quality of construction and choice of materials combining to make an instrument with an irreplicable tone and astounding volume.   The Honduran Mahogany back and sides offer excellent balance and the old growth Engelmann spruce top produces a vibrant projection with endless sustain.   An excellent sounding/playing mandolin with a bit of history and a wealth of experience.
