Description
This incredible Martin mandolin passed the test of a centuries making music with a few scars to prove it. The incredible workmanship and attentional to detail is evident in the longevity of this increasingly rare model of mandolin. Constructed by expert hands from Honduran mahogany, Adirondack red spruce and complimented with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard and headstock overlay. This mandolin is an amalgamation of todays most sought after tone woods, 100% original and completely structurally sound. This mandolin plays very nicely with low action, no buzzing or dead spots and plenty of room for future adjustment at the bridge. The neck is straight and neck joint is solid. The original tuners function and hold pitch but have some signs of wear. Cracks on the bass side and top of the mandolin have been professionally repaired. The repairs are clean, solid and will not reopen. However, the aesthetics are as you see them in the pictures.
This is a wonderful sounding and playing mandolin. It possesses a volume and depth of tone that is irreplaceable by any means besides a century of honest playing time. A true diamond in the rough for anyone who can appreciate it.
