    It allows  to use telephone to transmit & receive HP-IB! Converts parallel data from the interface bus into a serial bit stream. It converts the parallel HP-IB information to serial form and transmits it to the other 37201A which converts the information back to normal HP-IB format. Direct connection of HP-IB devices is possible via twisted pair cabling. The 37201A also has a modem for remote connection of HP-IB devices.
