Description
Gibson A MandolinExcellent tone, very good condition. Wonderful for playing folk music. From 1921. A1 body style. Serial #63670. Sheraton brown finish.
Neck replaced by luthier Jim Prior in Portland, Oregon, with a modern-style U-shaped neck with carbon fiber, snakehead and custom abalone inlay.Very well done. Plays easier than original neck.
Carved red spruce top, birch (possibly maple)
sides and back, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, mother of pearl tuners, silver plated engraved tailpiece.
Schaller nickel gears with mother of pearl buttons, traditional reverse gearing.
Good, low action. No cracks, separations, warps or buzzing. New hardshell case, new set of strings, and leather strap included. The improvements I made balance out the fact that it's not totally vintage.
